Description

Sodium bicarbonate is a white crystal, or opaque monoclinic crystal system fine crystal, odorless, salty and cool, easily soluble in water and glycerol, and not soluble in ethanol. The solubility in water is 7.8g (18℃), 16.0g (60 ℃), the density is 2.20g/cm3, the specific gravity is 2.208, and the refractive index is α : 1.465. β : 1.498; γ : 1.504, standard entropy 24.4J/(mol·K), heat of formation 229.3kJ/mol, heat of solution 4.33kJ/mol, specific heat capacity (Cp). 20.89J/(mol·°C)(22°C).

Sodium bicarbonate or monosodium carbonate is naturally present in some mineral waters. On an industrial scale, it is produced from limestone, salt and ammonia. It is used in cosmetics for its abrasive properties and anti-bacterial properties. For these reasons, there are many kinds of toothpaste and dental hygiene products. It is also used to reduce volatile sulfur compounds that cause bad breath.

Stability/Shelf life:

To maintain optimal conditions for storing sodium bicarbonate efficiently:

1) Store it in a cool (room temperature), dry place away from direct sunlight.

2) Avoid placing it near heat sources like ovens or heaters.

3) Protect it from volatile substances or strong odors that can contaminate the product.

Package

Proper packaging is essential to protect sodium bicarbonate from moisture, contaminants, and exposure to light. It helps maintain its chemical composition, ensuring optimal performance. Additionally, appropriate storage conditions prevent degradation or loss of efficacy over time.

Features & Benefits:

Abrasive: Removes materials from the body’s surface, helps clean teeth and improves shine.

pH regulator: Stabilises the PH of cosmetics

Deodorant: Reduces or masks unpleasant body odors

Oral care/hygiene agent: Provides cosmetic effects to the oral cavity (cleaning, deodorization and protection)

Skin protecting: Helps to avoid the harmful effects of external factors on the skin

Application

Detergent

1. Alkalization: sodium bicarbonate lotion is alkaline, can neutralize acidic substances, increase the local pH value, play an alkalization role. This plays an important role in the flushing and neutralization of some acid irritations, acid burns, or acid solutions.

2. Cleaning and flushing: Sodium bicarbonate lotion can be used to clean and flush wounds, wounds or other contaminated areas. It can help remove dirt, bacteria, toxins and other harmful substances, promote wound healing and reduce the risk of infection.

3. Antibacterial effect: Due to its alkaline properties, sodium bicarbonate lotion can provide a certain degree of antibacterial effect and inhibit some bacteria and fungi. In addition, it can dilute, dissolve, or regulate the pH value in the compatibility of some drugs to enhance their effect or improve their stability.

Dyeing addition

It can be used as a fixing agent for dyeing printing, an acid-alkali buffer, and a rear treatment agent for fabric dyeing and finishing. Adding baking soda to the dyeing can prevent the yarn from producing colored flowers.

Loosening agent (food grade)

In food processing, sodium bicarbonate is one of the most widely used loosening agents, used in the production of biscuits, bread, etc., but after the action remains sodium carbonate, too much use will make the food alkalinity is too large and lead to bad flavor, yellow-brown color.

It is the producer of carbon dioxide in soft drinks; It can be combined with alum to form alkaline baking powder, and can also be combined with soda ash to form civil stone alkali. It can also be used as a butter preservative.

It can be used as a fruit and vegetable color protection agent in vegetable processing. Adding about 0.1% to 0.2% sodium bicarbonate when washing fruits and vegetables can increase green stability. When sodium bicarbonate is used as a fruit and vegetable treatment agent, the pH value of fruit and vegetables can be increased, the water retention of protein can be improved, the tissue cells of food can be softened, and the astringent components can be dissolved. In addition, it removes the smell of sheep milk, and the use amount is 0.001% to 0.002%.
